Colours Mood Board Analysis
Colours Mood Board Analysis
After getting the results back from my questionnaire, I
found out that the most requested colour that my target audience wanted to see
on my mood board was black and white. I am definitely going to use these
colours on in my magazine because they are good contrasting colours that will
work well to use for text on the front cover, the contents page and the feature
article. Another colour that was requested was grey, I feel that grey will make
a change from white and even light grey tones will change my magazine cover to
make it stand out against other competing magazines. On my colours mood board I
have included different shades of black, white and grey. This helps me to
choose the best shades of colour to use. Red, green, blue and yellow were
chosen as the brighter colours that my target audience want to see, I feel that
my front cover will need some vibrancy and therefore I am likely to use red,
yellow and blue. I want my cover to be dynamic and therefore these bright
colours will help that, however I want to keep some subtlety to it and
therefore I can still use the neutral colours such as black, white and grey. In
my feature article I intend to use a black font with a white background,
among the images that I will use, this will keep my feature article spacious
and not be overloading to the readers eye. On my front cover, I feel that the cover
lines should be in either black or white to ensure that they stand out and are
easy to read.
Fonts Mood Board Analysis
Fonts Mood Board Analysis
I know that for the front cover of my music magazine, I
intend to use very strong and bold fonts. This is because I intend to have a
large colour image in the front and I want to mast head and the cover lines to
stand out. Some of the fonts that might be good for this are ‘the unknown’,
‘White Elephant’ ‘High Jakarta’, ‘Americana’, ‘irresponsible direction’ and
‘Quartzo’. All of these fonts on my mood board stand out amongst the other
fonts as being bold and strong, they are also eye catching which is what I need
on my front cover. I feel that this would appeal to my target audience because
with a bold font for the mast head, it shows that my magazine is a confident
and well established magazine which will encourage my target audience to buy
it. It will also get my brand to become well known and it will stand out in the
shelves. I think that I will use ‘white elephant’ for the masthead because I
feel it is a quite different and indie fonts that would appeal to my target
audience. It also fits in with my genre of magazine which will connect the
whole magazine and create a good overall image for my magazine. However when I
make my product I might try out different fonts to see which one looks the
best. Some of the fonts that could be
used for the cover lines include ‘Cocomat’, ‘confessions’, ‘replay’ and
‘Smoothpet’. I am unlikely to use all of these fonts because I want my magazine
to have a maximum of four different fonts because I feel this is enough to not
overload the overall image. It also connects my magazine together. A fonts for
my feature article could be ‘early times’ or ‘cocomat’ I feel these are
simplistic fonts which would work well for the feature article, it will also
appeal to my target audience because it will make the writing look spaced out and
simple for them to read without being daunted my a lot of text.
Original Ideas Statement
Original Ideas Statement
My magazine is going to be music based, however
it will also incorporate fashion. The genre of music is going to be indie pop.
My target audience is 16-22 year olds, both male and female. I have decided to
aim it at both male and females because I feel this will enable me to include
more into my magazine. My target audience are most likely to be creative
students at college/ university of the arts. My target audiences dress sense is
indie and therefore I feel that fashion should play a part to my magazine. I
have chosen this type of magazine because I think it will be slightly different
to the usual pop magazine and can have a creative/ educational twist to it. I
can add the fashion element into my feature article because as well as it being
about a music artist, I can also incorporate their fashion/ style. This will
suit my target audience because when I asked them on my survey the top two
answers for the feature article were fashion and a music artist.

Advertisers Mood Board Analysis
Advertiser’s mood board analysis
Due to the target audience of my magazine, I have decided to advertise products and services that would link into the lifestyle of my target audience such as Starbucks, subway and Costa Coffee. My target audience are artistic students and therefore they may grab a coffee to drink whilst completing work or they may be watching the world go by to get inspiration for a particular art work or photographs to take. In order to get the supplies they need for college/ university, they may need to go to paper chase, Waterstones or staples. I could also include vouchers to these places to encourage them to buy this magazine. My target audience are old school and fashionable and they like music. They prefer records because they are retro so I have included the vinyl shop logo. I also included BBC radio 1 because they are not into radio stations such as kiss because they prefer less common music. I included clothes/shoe shops such as urban outfitters, Schuh, office, Zara, ted backer and Topshop. I feel that these advertisements would appeal to my target audience because they are highly into fashion they will want to create their own individual look. I have also include designer brands such as Paco Robanne, Calvin Klein and marc Jacobs because they will want to smell nice. Because my target audience is young, educated and creative, I have included technology such as Google play, office 365, Canon, iTunes and Apple. They are likely to have the highest technology in cameras because they have a creative way of thinking. I have also included travel services such as first busses, Anglian travel and network Rail. This is because students tend to travel using oublic transport regularly and therefore knowing the options they have will be useful.
Target Audience Mood Board Analysis
Target Audience Mood Board Analysis
The target audience for my Music Magazine is 16-22 year olds, both male and female. I have decided to aim it at both male and females because I feel this will enable me to include more into my magazine. This will also broaden my readers and create more people who will want to buy my magazine which will effectively make my magazine more successful and make more money. From my mood board you can see that my target audiences dress sense is indie, just like my indie pop music genre. From the clothing shops and the clothing items on my mood board you can see they are stylish, however not a mainstream shopper, they tend to shop at places such as urban outfitters and Zara. They are unique and different to the expected style. For example I have included a Doc Martin boot which is what people tend to wear to make a statement and show they are different and not afraid to stand out. I have also included baggy jumpers with abstract/old fashioned prints on them. These are not what is expected to be worn, however my target audience want to be different and not blend in with the normal expectations. My target audience are also well educated a quite creative. Some of them would be at university or college. This is shown through the books, the clock and glasses. The type of music they listen too are old school such as the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. This shows they are well educated in the types of music that they appreciate and enjoy. My target audience also enjoy festivals such as Latitude and Glastonbury which are highly creative. This also reveals that my target audience are creative, this is also shown through the acoustic guitar and the camera and also their style. My target audience are typically middle class because they enjoy upmarket things such as Wagamamas, apple products, festivals, books and mini coopers. They also attend some form of education which makes them ambitious and they have a natural drive to succeed.
